The term “get in where you fit in” is used to describe finding one’s place, and how and when to take up space. This exhibition showcases contemporary black women artists exploring this landscape through form manipulation. In their own way, each artist is utilizing form within their practice to search for clues of their lineage, existence in the art world (and the world at large), how to experiment within their art-making practice, and how to make space for others whose identities intersect their own.
